Narcissictic Personality Disorder?

I was watching a documentary on channel 4 about EgoManiacs, I am a very self aware narcissist displaying all 9 of the stages of the disorder, should it worry me, also, is it dangerous?

Did anyone else watch this documentary?

On the quiz thing that the psycologist read, i answered 9 yes, and one maybe, out of 10, apparently anyone answering over 5 is an egomaniac!

Can this disorder lead to being institutionalised, or do you think people can live with it without it ever having an effect?

The 9 Stages

1. has a grandiose sense of self-importance - I refer to myself as a god

2. i will be very very rich

3. i am special

4. you should admire me

5. i deserve EVERYTHING GOOD

6. i use people to get what i want

7. i dont care about anyone

8. i think people should envy me, because i am better than them

9. Im Arrogant (seriously)

Tell me what you think!

Well, yeah you should worry. I mean, how can you ever expect to have a healthy relationship with ANYONE when you (and ADMITTEDLY) don't care about anyone but you? I've known people like you and I couldn't stand to be in the same room! Seek treatment, seriously. You'll be a VERY unhappy person in life, otherwise, if you aren't already.
To be honest, your type of person are the most nauseating of all. The ones I have known in my life have also been extremely ugly (looks wise) They are so deluded I find it incredible but they also turned out to be very isolated and lonely, friendless. No one can put up with what can only be termed as bigheads for long.

It may take a decade or so to suss these people out, they use you, keep you 'sweet' because they need something, always busy if you ask them to do something, oh yes, I have known quite a few but they have come unstuck.
i wouldn't worry about goint to an institution. There is a big difference between a personality disorder and a psychiatric disorder.

I would try and do something about your disorder though because you're not better than everyone else and when you act like you are people don't like you for it. How many friends have you got?

People with narcissistic personality disorders are not generally happy. You should learn to value others more, be more forgiving of faults in others and remember that others are doing that for you now!
sounds like my ex - how are you doing?
i think you are English, and it has been my experience that all English are egomaniacal.
Ah well...know body's perfect!
Please don't worry. If you really had this disorder you wouldn't care a hoot about anyone else's opinion and you wouldn't be wasting valuable time asking it. The nine stages you list above apply to every single teenager in the world, are you perhaps a teenager? If so, don't worry, you will grow out of it!
Perhaps you have not yet met or cared enough about another person who is very important to you to detract from this somewhat selfish behaviour.

I think this type of focus could be destructive to you even meeting someone special and most certainly will affect your relationships with other people.

Yes I would go and seek advice about it to try and avoid being so self absorbed.

Some of the traits are acceptable and even advantageous others are not at all helpful, if you could learn how to capitalise on the positive traits (which I guess you already do) and calm some of the less appealing traits that would make you a much more popular person and thus would satisfy your self worth.

Here's to your more likeable and well balanced personality.
I would but I'm too busy admiring myself in the mirror. Oh, look, ain't I cute?
